Bertelson Precast Corporation products are warranted to be free from defect in material and workmanship as follows: stair treads and landings are warranted for 5 years from date of purchase; all other products are warranted for one year from date of purchase. Warranty periods begin on delivery date of the warranted product. A defect is defined as failure to meet or maintain the manufacturing specifications. Bertelson Precast Corp. reserves the right to investigate any claims, and to test any Precast Concrete Products units prior to replacement and/or repair.
Due to inherent properties of concrete and cement products, it is normal for variations in shading or color to be present in a finished product or occur over time due to sunlight exposure or other environmental factors, and those variations in shading or color are not covered by this Limited Warranty.

Maintenance
The following provides a partial summary of key aspects of Bertelson Precast Corporation’s maintenance recommendations.
Sealing of precast concrete products is recommended. Each region will have different sealers available. Bertelson Precast Corp. recommends our customers consult with local masonry materials distributors to acquire localized information. Bertelson Precast Corp. can suggest nationally distributed sealer manufacturers upon request. Concrete products not installed immediately after delivery should be stored in a climate-controlled environment.
Concrete products may exhibit efflorescence, which appears as a white stain on some colored concrete products as the result of moisture evaporation. Efflorescence is a common condition to which concrete products are susceptible. It generally clears up and eventually dissipates as concrete products age. Efflorescence is a condition that does not affect the structural integrity or the longevity.
Precast concrete products are hand-made with natural materials. Therefore, variation in color and texture are expected.
All Bertelson Precast Corp wet-cast and precast concrete products destined for regions where freeze-thaw is a concern are cast with an air-entraining admixture. The admixture results in small air bubbles that provide miniscule spaces where any absorbed water can freeze and expand without damaging the concrete’s structure. In all direct sale products Bertelson Precast Corp. incorporates an integral admixture that helps minimize water intrusion for the life of the product.
